In their plea, the Croatian bishops pointed out that they were aware
of the seriousness of the situation in Croatia, and were struck by
the crises, difficulties and insecurities of so many young people
and fathers without jobs of being laid off. They expressed special
concern with the families of Croats displaced from Drvar.
"We include in our prayers all those responsible in our society for
them not to lose sight of the general good, because the law and
politics are here for man, not the other way round. With the plea for
prayer, we plan to ourselves stimulate some concrete forms of
solidarity, and expect people of good will and from social
institutions to become more involved in solving our social
problems," the bishops said.
