ZAGREB, March 14 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic, a parliamentary delegation headed by speaker Zlatko Tomcic, almost all members of the Croatian government led by Premier Ivica Racan, MPs, representatives of religious
communities and the Croatian Army gathered at 11AM on Thursday in front of Zagreb's Cathedral to pay their last respects to Cardinal Franjo Kuharic. Also present were city representatives, members of the diplomatic corps, the family of the deceased cardinal and other cultural public figures. Cardinal Jozef Tomko, personal envoy of Pope John Paul II, will lead the memorial service which will be attended by cardinals Joachim Meisner from Cologne, Friedrich Wetter from Muenchen and Vinko Puljic from Sarajevo, archbishops and bishops, and 510 priests from the country and abroad.(hina) np
