ZAGREB/BANJA LUKA, March 19 (Hina) - Commenting on the exodus of
Croat refugees from Drvar, the president of the Bishops' Conference
of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Banja Luka bishop Franjo Komarica, and the
head of the Bosnian Catholic Church, Cardinal Vinko Puljic, on
Tuesday forwarded an appeal urging Catholic refugees to unite in
the struggle to win the right to return to their pre-war homes,

The two church dignitaries say that in the past years some Croat
political leaders had been promising construction sites and
material to the Drvar Croats, who settled in the town out of
necessity, only to leave them high and dry in the end.
"It hurts to see that the refugees, misled by false promises, have
forgotten their native towns, from where they were expelled, and do
not want to exert pressure on politicians to enable them to return
to their homes," the appeal reads.
Komarica and Puljic also say they were unpleasantly surprised by
the stand of some international representatives who they claim are
applying double standards towards refugees of different ethnic
background.
