PODGORICA: MONTENEGRIN PARLIAMENT ADOPTS AGREEMENT TOO PODGORICA, April 9 (Hina) - Following several days of debating, the Montenegrin Parliament with a majority vote on Tuesday adopted an agreement on redefining relations between
Montenegro and Serbia which was signed officially on behalf of Podgorica by Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic and Prime Minister Filip Vujanovic on March 14th in Belgrade.
PODGORICA, April 9 (Hina) - Following several days of debating, the
Montenegrin Parliament with a majority vote on Tuesday adopted an
agreement on redefining relations between Montenegro and Serbia
which was signed officially on behalf of Podgorica by Montenegrin
President Milo Djukanovic and Prime Minister Filip Vujanovic on
March 14th in Belgrade.#L#
The Agreement was voted for by MP's of the ruling Democratic Party
of Socialists (DPS) and the pro-Serbian coalition "For
Yugoslavia", while the document was opposed by parties within a
bloc that supports a sovereign state for Montenegro - the Social
Democratic Party (SDP) and the Liberal Alliance (LSCG), as well as
Albanian parties - Democratic Union of Albanians (DUSA) and the
Democratic Alliance of Albanians in Montenegro (DSA).
The Social Democratic Party on Tuesday reiterated that it would
withdraw from the government run by Prime Minister Filip Vujanovic
while the Liberal Alliance threatened to withdraw its support which
will create a serious crisis in Montenegro which may result in new
parliamentary elections.
