The information about Nikolic's arrest was confirmed by the chief
of police in Bratunac, Mane Djuric.
He said that 18 people in civilian clothes in three vehicles arrived
in front of Nikolic's house before noon. They called him to step
outside to discuss something with him. As soon as he exited the
house, he was arrested and taken in an unknown direction.
Djuric said the arrest was most probably carried out by
"representatives of international organisations," and added that
local police could get no information as to the reasons for the
arrest.
Information at hand is that Nikolic was aide to the Bratunac
commander of Republika Srpska army during the war in Bosnia. he was
in charge of security and intelligence.
The Bratunac brigade participated in the ethnic cleansing and
persecution of Bosniaks from eastern Bosnia, including the
massacre of hundreds in Srebrenica.
