ZAGREB, Feb 22 (Hina) - Speaking about the recent murder of a Zagreb policeman, the head of the Zagreb police criminal department said on Friday the killer did not formally admit to the murder and that his statement could not be used
in court. When asked in an informal conversation why he killed police officer Milenko Vranjkovic last Monday, escaped murder convict Srdjan Mladjan (21) said, "I didn't feel like going back to prison," Zeljko Prsa told reporters, adding the police interpreted this as an admission to the killing. Prsa said Mladjan made the statement after surrendering to the police as he was being escorted to a police station.
