JUSTICE MINISTER FILES CHARGES AGAINST THREE PRISON EMPLOYEES

ZAGREB, Feb 21 (Hina) - Justice Minister Ingrid Anticevic-Marinovic on Thursday pressed charges with the State Prosecutor's Office against three employees at a Pozega prison responsible for granting leave to murder convict Srdjan Mladjan, who killed a policeman, Milenko Vranjkovic, in Zagreb on Feb. 18. After relieving of duty and initiating disciplinary proceedings against prison head Mario Vcelik and his assistant Vesna Vlasic two days ago, the justice minister today took the same measures against Vladimir Malekovic, the head of the prison's department in charge of the execution of sentences. The Justice Ministry said in a statement, which does not mention the names of the three prison employees, there were grounds to suspect that they were guilty of unconscientious action in deciding to grant unsupervised leave to Mladjan.(hina) ha sb
