ZAGREB, Feb 20 (Hina) - Justice Minister Ingrid Anticevic-Marinovic said in parliament on Wednesday the head of the prison in Pozega was personally responsible in the case of Srdjan Mladjan, an escaped convict who killed a policeman
last Monday. The human factor failed in this case, not the organisation, the minister said, answering a question put by Social Liberal (HSLS) MP Marko Baricevic. The minister reminded that even before Mladjan was sent to Pozega to serve his sentence, the Administration for the Execution of Penal Sanctions had warned that he was a very dangerous convict requiring psychiatric supervision, as well as a flight risk. Mladjan was serving a ten-year sentence for a double murder in a Pozega juvenile prison. On Feb. 16 he was granted weekend leave.
