ZAGREB, Dec 11 (Hina) - Croatian Radio and Television (HRT) on
Thursday issued a statement saying that the Croatian Bishops
Conference's (HBK) Media Council had erroneously concluded that
the HRT would not respect the agreement with the HBK and reduce the
number of religious programmes in Croatian Television's (HTV) new
programme scheme. #L#
The HRT said that the debate at yesterday's session of the HBK Media
Council had been conducted on the basis of the working copy of the
programme scheme and not its official version, which led to the
wrong conclusion that the HRT did not intend to respect its
agreement with the HBK.
"The HRT has so far met all of its obligations from signed
agreements and contracts very responsibly and fully, including
those from the agreement with the HBK, and will continue to do so in
the future. The claims about misunderstandings between the HBK and
the HRT are therefore groundless," the statement said.
