The Croatian Telecommunications Trade Union and the National Union
of Postal and Telecommunication Workers urges the new government to
reveal the content of an agreement on the sale of 16 percent of HT
shares to Deutsche Telekom and explain what it intends to do with
the remaining 49 percent of shares.
Union leaders said they had information that 2,000 HT workers could
be left without their jobs next year.
They claim that Deutsche Telekom, the HT's majority owner, dictates
the pace of dismissals and that the new government should urgently
react to preserve the existing jobs.
