ZAGREB, Oct 29 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Wednesday signed
agreements with the Croatian Old Catholic Church, the Bulgarian
Orthodox Church and Macedonian Orthodox Church in Croatia. #L#
Signing the agreements on behalf of the government, Vice Premier
Goran Granic said they would improve the promotion of religious
freedoms in the country, which testifies to Croatia being a multi-
cultural and multi-ethnic state which makes it possible for
citizens to exercise their religious rights.
He added that negotiations were being under way between the
government and the Jewish religious community to sign a similar
document.
Representatives of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in Croatia, the
Croatian Old Catholic Church and Macedonian Orthodox Church,
Bishop Simeon, Vitomir Burek and Bishop Gorazd respectively,
thanked the Ivica Racan cabinet for the agreements.
