The memorandum was signed as part of a seminar on defence management
which is being held behind closed doors in the Solaris hotel complex
from October 13 to 16.
The seminar is discussing the security situation in southeastern
Europe and is being attended by defence ministry officials from
Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark,
Greece, Italy, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro, and
Slovenia.
Gareljic said that the memorandum laid a foundation for the
development of bilateral cooperation between the two ministries.
"The experience of Denmark as a country with a long and rich
democratic tradition is valuable to Croatia, particularly with
regard to defence, personnel management and the reduction of the
number of staff in the Defence Ministry and the Armed Forces,"
Gareljic said.
"Over the past four years, Croatia has considerably improved its
relations with neighbouring countries and countries in the region.
We have concluded more than 25 bilateral agreements on cooperation.
Our cooperation with all neighbouring countries is good in
principle, although our relations with each of them are specific,"
he added.
