PULA, Oct 3 (Hina) - Slovakia will support Croatia on its path to membership in Euro-Atlantic organisations and will use its experience to help it in the process, Slovak President Rudolf Schuster said on Friday during a visit to the northern Adriatic town of Pula. #L# "Slovakia will become a full member of the European Union on May 1 next year, and I hope Croatia becomes the same in 2007 along with Bulgaria and Romania," Schuster said. Asked by a journalist about the possibility of Croatia's EU entry being delayed because of the case of fugitive general Ante Gotovina and Croatia's intention to declare an economic zone unilaterally, Schuster said that "those who know what is really going on in Croatia and what steps Croatia has taken in the accession process can in no way deny Croatia entry into the EU soon." "Even if there are some problems, they are not economic problems or problems relating to respect for human rights. It is the case of just one person, and I think that one person cannot prevent Croatia from entering the EU," the Slovak president said. Speaking of the problem of proclamation of an economic zone, Schuster expressed confidence that Croatia would become a member of the EU in 2007 despite this delicate issue. The Slovak president wrapped up his two-day visit with a tour of Istria County. (hina) vm sb
