Del Ponte told reporters her talks with Serbia-Montenegro
officials today focused on all 17 fugitives indicted by the U.N.
tribunal, particularly Mladic. She said she came to Belgrade to
inform authorities that Mladic was still in Serbia but that she was
not at liberty to say where.
Earlier today she held talks with President Svetozar Marovic and
Foreign Minister Goran Svilanovic, who chairs the Council for
Cooperation with the Hague tribunal.
The chief prosecutor said the country's cooperation with the
tribunal had improved but was still not satisfactory.
Svilanovic told reporters today's talks addressed two issues --
access to archives and witnesses who have been called to testify in
The Hague, as well as the pace of exempting them from the obligation
to keep official secrets.
