BELGRADE, Sept 20 (Hina) - Mirjana Markovic, the wife of former Yugoslav president and Hague war crimes tribunal indictee Slobodan Milosevic, is likely to be the Yugoslav Left party's candidate for presidential elections in Serbia on
Nov. 16, the Belgrade-based daily Politika said on Saturday.
BELGRADE, Sept 20 (Hina) - Mirjana Markovic, the wife of former
Yugoslav president and Hague war crimes tribunal indictee Slobodan
Milosevic, is likely to be the Yugoslav Left party's candidate for
presidential elections in Serbia on Nov. 16, the Belgrade-based
daily Politika said on Saturday. #L#
The party will decide about Markovic's candidacy on Sept. 23.
One of the party's leaders, Zivojin Stanic, told Politika Milosevic
had to agree with and support his wife's candidacy.
Stanic said the candidacy was problematic because the party was not
in touch with Markovic and there was an arrest warrant for her.
