the process of democratisation and stabilisation is taking place in
Sisak on Friday under the auspices of the OSCE mission to Croatia.

The conference, organised by the Agency for Local Democracy from
Sisak, is being attended by about 50 journalists from Croatia and
Bosnia-Herzegovina and Sisak County officials.
Under discussion are relations between media and local or regional
authorities, freedom of speech and access to information.
The head of the public relations office of the OSCE regional office
in Sisak, Julije Katancevic, said that monitoring freedom of the
media was of one of the main tasks of the OSCE mission and that the
OSCE would support independent media that promote principles close
to his mission.
Katancevic said that one of the objectives of the conference was
improvement of relations between local media and authorities on a
partnership basis.
