Simonovic held the meeting in Brussels, where he is heading a
Croatian delegation attending a three-day preparatory meeting
prior to a ministerial conference on the development of fishing in
the Mediterranean, to take place in Venice in November.
"We spoke about co-operation with The Hague, of the refugee return
process and of a package of laws relating to the media. We also
reported in detail of Croatia's intention to expand its
jurisdiction in the Adriatic Sea," Croatia's deputy foreign
minister said.
"We informed the Commission that the Croatian government has
forwarded a report to the Hague Tribunal in which it outlined the
efforts into resolving the Gotovina case and everything that has
been done to submit documents relating to that matter," Simonovic
said.
As far as refugee returns are concerned, Simonovic said, the EC
showed particular interest in the idea to hold a conference on
efforts to come up with funding to support refugee returns and to
assist in their reintergration with their new surroundings.
There was special reference to finalising Croatia's response to a
the EC's questionnaire in wake of the meeting on October 9th when
Croatia's Prime Minister, Ivica Racan , will officially submit
Croatia's reply to Brussels.
