military exercise called Dynamic Response in the areas of Kosovo
and Bosnia-Herzegovina. #L#
This annual training exercise, which traditionally takes place in
August and September, serves as an occasion for NATO-led troops in
Bosnia, known as Stabilisation Force (SFOR), and international
peacekeepers in Kosovo, known as Kosovo Force (KFOR), to prepare
themselves for real joint operations.
KFOR has issued a press release saying that the exercise which will
last until 24 September and which was previously scheduled, has no
connection with the current situation in Kosovo.
At the moment about 18,000 NATO-led troops are being deployed in
Kosovo, and over 12,000 in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
