The ministry extended condolences to United Nations Secretary-
General Kofi Annan and the families of all the victims, including
that of the U.N.'s special envoy in Iraq -- Sergio Vieira de Mello.
According to the latest data, 20 people have been killed and more
than 100 wounded in the bombing of the U.N. seat in Baghdad on
Tuesday.
The foreign ministry said the bombing seriously undermined
international efforts towards the establishment of peace and
security in Iraq. It highlighted the need to bring the perpetrators
before justice as soon as possible.
Croatia will continue to help Iraq through the U.N. in its bids to
successfully return to the world body, whose role in the
preservation of peace and security is irreplaceable, the statement
said.
