ZAGREB, Aug 19 (Hina) - The water level in springs, underground waters and storage lakes is falling and has reached an all-time low. The situation is worsening by the day and if the drought period continues, there is no telling what may happen with water supply in individual systems, the Croatian Water Management Company said in a report on Tuesday. #L# It is mostly small supply systems that have encountered problems in water supply, while large systems are functioning as usual or with only slight difficulties, the report says. It is hard to predict what will happen if the drought continues, but water reductions will probably be introduced in areas that have not had cuts so far, according to the report. The company appeals to consumers to use water sparingly, and to report any malfunctions to utility companies so they can be removed as soon as possible. The most difficult situation with the water supply system is on the islands of Pag, Lastovo and Vis where water reductions are being carried out at night. (hina) lml
