The testing was conducted in the second half of July and included
833 beaches, which were tested according to Croatian criteria,
which are more stringent than international ones.
According to the results, the quality of water on 98.6 percent of
all tested beaches is high - 555 (66.4%) beaches have very good
quality sea water and water on 268 (32.2%) beaches is suitable for
swimming.
The sea water quality on ten beaches did not meet Croatian quality
criteria, one each in Primorje-Gorski Kotar, Sibenik-Knin and
Istria counties, two in Split-Dalmatia County and five in
Dubrovnik-Neretva County.
