ZAGREB, July 4 (Hina) - The Croatian government's final bill on the prevention of violence at sports events was endorsed on Friday by all parliamentary benches of the ruling coalition and the Istrian Democratic Assembly, while the opposition called for a second reading of the bill, which is in urgent procedure. #L# The ruling coalition benches highlighted the need of legislating the prevention of violence at stadiums as soon as possible, warning that incidents caused by fans, as a recent one on Slovenia, undermine Croatia's reputation in the world and dissuade people from coming to stadiums because they fear for their safety. The opposition benches said the bill should undergo the regular parliamentary procedure. Such an important act must not be adopted without a prior comprehensive debate, particularly on the social causes of violence among the young, they said. (hina) ha sb
