"I have congratulated Croatian waterpolo players on their great
silver medal," said Racan adding the players were excellent
ambassadors of their country while some fans at the game were not.
He said there were omissions in the organisation of the game and
that Slovenia misjudged the significance and risk of the game.
"One should be concerned about what Serbian fans did, I primarily
refer to the attack on the Croatian embassy building in Belgrade,"
said the PM, adding that the bodies of democratically elected
government in Serbia should deal with that.
"I can only express regret about the fact that these acts of
violence and primitivism had not been immediately condemned by most
senior officials of that country," said Racan, reminding about the
consequences of late reactions to such form of primitivism in
recent history.
