national. #L#
Commenting on the incident, the ministry cited an article published
in today's issue of the Vecernji List daily entitled "Boy Banned
from Playing Soccer Because he is a Serb National".
Given that the article cites a statement by the president of
Vukovar's association of war invalids (HVIDRA), Slavko Juric, and
standpoints of the association of Vukovar widows who said that not a
single Serb can play at the memorial youth soccer tournament, the
ministry said it would request of the Vukovar HVIDRA and the
association of widows to voice their opinion about the matter.
Unfortunately, sports in Croatia is often used for expressing
entirely unacceptable standpoints, the ministry said.
