The adoption of the bill is part of the adjustment of Croatian
legislation to European Union standards, said Zaja.
All benches endorsed the bill, expecting its application will
reduce accidents in the workplace.
Last year workers spent in excess of 53,000 working days on sick
leave due to injury in the workplace and occupational diseases, to
the cost of 280 million kuna (EUR37.3 mln) from the Gross Domestic
Product, excluding the costs of treatment and sick leave, according
to State Inspectorate data.
Parliament resumes sitting on Wednesday with a debate on a
government-sponsored set of labour-social welfare bills.
