ZAGREB, June 23 (Hina) - Ninety-seven percent of Agricultural Workers' Union members who participated in a recent referendum on changes to the Labour Act have voted against the proposed changes. Due to dissatisfaction with the conduct
of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH) leadership regarding the proposed changes, the Agricultural Workers Union will soon consider the possibility of leaving the SSSH, union members said.
ZAGREB, June 23 (Hina) - Ninety-seven percent of Agricultural
Workers' Union members who participated in a recent referendum on
changes to the Labour Act have voted against the proposed changes.
Due to dissatisfaction with the conduct of the Federation of
Independent Trade Unions of Croatia (SSSH) leadership regarding
the proposed changes, the Agricultural Workers Union will soon
consider the possibility of leaving the SSSH, union members said.

More than 28,000, or 72%, of the Union's members took part in the
referendum, of whom 97% voted against the proposed changes to the
Labour Act, union leader Josip Pavic said at a news conference.
The union organised and conducted the referendum on its own because
it did not agree with the affirmative views of the SSSH leadership
which did everything to have the changes okayed, Pavic said.
