ZAGREB, June 30 (Hina) - Participants in an international

The conference, which pooled some 40 public figures from Croatia
and abroad, was organised by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the
Society for the Culture of Democracy and the International Centre
for the Education of Journalists.
Participants in the event agreed that the low level of the culture
of dialogue was particularly present in the media, which they say do
not promote different opinions but very often manipulate or
restrict the publishing of opposed views, the foundation stated.
The participants suggested that the Croatian Journalists' Society
reorganise its Ethics Council to include media owners, so they
could promote ethical media conduct together.
They also suggested that editorial boards in the press integrate in
their statutes and collective agreements measures necessary to
improve the education of journalists.
