ZAGREB, May 19 (Hina) - Croatia has achieved modern management
which is equal to that in the world through the privatisation
process, President Stjepan Mesic said on Monday at a reception
given to mark the tenth anniversary of the Croatian Employers
Association (HUP). #L#
Addressing HUP leaders and their guests from the International
Organisation of Employers (IOE), Mesic voiced confidence Croatia
would soon achieve results even better than those of the past three
years.
HUP president Ivica Mudrinic said the association had promoted
Croatian entrepreneurship over the past decade, and thanked Mesic
for his sponsorship of the HUP's anniversary on behalf of the
association's 50,000 members who employ 300,000 workers.
To date the HUP has done a lot in creating a representative
association of employers, said Jose-Maria Lacas Asa, a member of
the IOE steering committee.
The IOE, which gathers employers associations from 140 countries,
says however that on the international level competitiveness has to
be increased, while social dialogue in the implementation of
structural reforms must be conducted on the national level.
