Representatives of the Croatian Association of Trade Unions (HUS),
which has organised the blockade, say it will last until said issues
have been resolved.
The plant has not been operating for three months.
HUS vice president Ozren Matijasevic has told Hina the workers are
angry at the government because it has not honoured its decisions of
a month ago that it would relaunch production and pay overdue
salaries, as well as at the management because it is doing nothing
to have these decisions enforced despite the fact that 100,000 kuna
(EUR13,300) has been paid to the supervisory committee as
compensation.
"It is becoming increasingly clear that structural steel
importers' lobbies are slowing down the settlement of this issue,"
Matijasevic has said.
