ZAGREB, May 17 (Hina) - The Croatian Agriculture and Forestry Ministry on Saturday commented on recent media claims about a so-called wheat scandal, stating that the ministry and Agriculture Minister were being falsely accused so that
the actual amount of wheat reserves at the Directorate for Commodity Stockpiles could be covered up.
ZAGREB, May 17 (Hina) - The Croatian Agriculture and Forestry
Ministry on Saturday commented on recent media claims about a so-
called wheat scandal, stating that the ministry and Agriculture
Minister were being falsely accused so that the actual amount of
wheat reserves at the Directorate for Commodity Stockpiles could be

"The Ministry dismisses recent imputations whose purpose is to
cover up the actual situation regarding wheat reserves at the
Directorate for Commodity Stockpiles and accuse the Ministry and
Agriculture Minister Bozidar Pankretic of wrongdoing and favouring
some companies in the management of state wheat reserves," ministry
spokesman Nenad Matic told Hina.
"The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will insist on the
introduction of order on the wheat market as well as on the lawful
operation of all state institutions, including the Commodity
Stockpiles Directorate," Matic said.
