The ministry's statement contained no other details.
The ministry on Tuesday voiced deep regret over an incident caused
by Martinovic in Zagreb's Cvjetni Square on Thursday, May 8, during
an event marking Europe Week. The event was part of a campaign whose
purpose is to acquaint the Croatian public with the process of
Croatia's integration in Europe.
The press ran a transcript of a video-recording which they received
from peace activists with Martinovic shouting insults at anti-
globalists who gathered to protest against Croatia's admission
into the EU.
After the minister's advisor was slammed by the press, the ministry
investigated the incident and received assurances from Martinovic
that he had not insulted anyone, after which it issued a denial.
However, the ministry again investigated the case, as previously
announced, and decided to punish Martinovic's conduct in line with
the Law on Civil Servants.
