The letter was signed at a Zagreb meeting by railways managing
directors from Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia-Montenegro, Macedonia,
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bosnia's Serb entity and Croat-Muslim
federation, Croatian Railways said in a press release.
The aforementioned railways, alongside those from Greece, Turkey,
and Austria, run along the Tenth Pan-European Corridor, which was
used to the maximum before the wars in the region, while now the
turnover is 10-25 percent of the pre-war figure.
After the Zagreb meeting, representatives of railways from
Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia-Montenegro agreed in principle to
introduce a new business line between Ljubljana and Belgrade, via
Zagreb, from December 14.
This train would leave Ljubljana early in the morning and return
from Belgrade late in the afternoon. The ride would be an
approximate six hours, depending on how fast crossing state borders
would be.
