President Bush maintains military cooperation with Serbia-
Montenegro will encourage the continuation of the defence system
reform and strengthen democratic institutions in the country, thus
promoting the U.S. objective of achieving peace and security in
Southeast Europe, the White House said in a statement.
Serbia-Montenegro has taken important steps towards advancing the
defence system reform and improving cooperation with the war crimes
tribunal in The Hague, the statement added.
The U.S. wishes to reinforce cooperation with Serbia-Montenegro
and encourages the country to continue with reforms which will
further its integration into the Euro-Atlantic community, the
statement concluded.
