ZAGREB, May 7 (Hina) - Croatia's State Audit Office will investigate the legality of the privatisation of Suncani Hvar, while the government was set a five-day deadline to examine the statements Tourism Minister Pave Zupan Ruskovic made in parliament concerning the privatisation of this tourist company. #L# This was noted in conclusions adopted by the parliamentary benches of the ruling and opposition parties regarding the privatisation of Suncani Hvar, which was discussed at the previous parliamentary sitting. With its conclusions parliament obliged the State Audit Office to investigate the legality of the privatisation of Suncani Hvar and to report on any possible illegal dealings to relevant bodies. The government was obliged to propose a concept for the administration and privatisation of the tourist sector, and to submit a bill to amend the Law on Privatisation within 30 days. The government will investigate the statements made by the tourism minister during a parliamentary discussion on Suncani Hvar at the request of the Croatian Peasant Party bench. This party believes the minister expressed stances that were in opposition to decisions adopted by the government. The minister insisted no mistakes had been made during an international tender for the sale of the company and the selection of the partner, and that Slovenia's Terme Catez had made the best offer. A government commission claimed errors had been made and cancelled the tender. Today MPs adopted a conclusion by parliament's tourism committee binding the government to propose a tourism privatisation concept within 30 days, and to submit a report on the situation in the ACY Opatija company. Also adopted was a conclusion by the Libra bench requesting that the Audit Office compile a report on the privatisation process from 1991 to 2003 and submit it by June 1. Parliament also adopted a law ratifying a free trade agreement between Croatia and Yugoslavia, as well as a decision on the supervision of security services in Croatia. (hina) sp/ha sb
