SARAJEVO, May 6 (Hina) - The restitution of property to refugees and displaced persons from Bosnia-Herzegovina who submitted required requests will most likely be completed by year's end, UNHCR spokesman Bakir Jalovcic said in
Sarajevo on Tuesday.

He told reporters 227,598 requests had been filed to date and that
local authorities had cleared 177,000 or 78 percent by the end of
March.
"It is expected that every municipality throughout Bosnia will
clear all property restitution requests before the end of 2003,"
said Jalovcic, adding there were some 50,000 pending cases.
The restitution of property to pre-war owners has been completed in
28 Bosnian municipalities. Eighty-one percent of all cases has been
cleared in the Croat-Muslim entity and 72 percent in the Bosnian
Serb entity.
