During the talks with EBRD president Jean Lemierre, the bank's new
projects in Croatia were announced. The EBRD has invested more than
one billion euros in the country since 1993.
"I cannot conceal my satisfaction. We have achieved a full success
at the talks with numerous representatives of banks and financial
institutions and at contacts with EBRD senior officials," the
Croatian minister told Hina on the phone.
According to Crkvenac, the EBRD President commended the results of
the national economic policy in the last three years, and promised
some new projects, which might be carried out with the assistance of
domestic banks and local authorities.
Lemierre accepted the invitation to visit Croatia this September.
The EBRD is mulling over a possibility that Croatia may host the
EBRD's annual assembly in 2005.
Commenting on the annual assembly in Tashkent, Crkvenac said that
it had gathered delegations of some 80 countries, including
developed states which are OECD (Organisation for Economic
Cooperation and Development) members.
