ROVINJ, Apr 30 (Hina) - The Rovinj Tobacco Factory (TDR) Group generated 680 million kuna (EUR89.5 mln) in net profits last year, an increase of 33.8 percent from the year before.

generated 680 million kuna (EUR89.5 mln) in net profits last year,
an increase of 33.8 percent from the year before. #L#
The management said last year's results were the best in the
company's 130-year-long history.
The TDR Group exports 49 percent of its product. Last year's exports
generated more than one billion kuna (EUR131.6 mln).
The Group currently has ten companies, but under a recently begun
restructuring process their number will be reduced to three -- the
Zagreb Tobacco Factory, TDR, and the Kanfanar-based Ronhill will
merge into one, companies for tobacco production and processing in
Virovitica, Pitomaca, and Kutjevo will merge into "Croatian
Tobaccos", while the Group's tourist firms will make up the third
company.
Over the past five years, the value of the TDR Group capital grew
more than five times and currently exceeds 2.5 billion kuna (EUR329
mln).
TDR has also applied for Serbian government tenders for the
purchase of tobacco factories in Nis, Vranje, and Novi Sad.
