KIEV KIEV, April 23 (Hina) - On the second and last day of its first meeting in Kiev on Wednesday, the Ukrainian-Croatian committee for trade and economic cooperation held its final plenary session and signed a protocol. The committee
is chaired by Croatian Economy Minister Ljubo Jurcic and the state secretary of the Ukrainian economy ministry, Volodimir Leonidovic Persin.
KIEV, April 23 (Hina) - On the second and last day of its first
meeting in Kiev on Wednesday, the Ukrainian-Croatian committee for
trade and economic cooperation held its final plenary session and
signed a protocol. The committee is chaired by Croatian Economy
Minister Ljubo Jurcic and the state secretary of the Ukrainian
economy ministry, Volodimir Leonidovic Persin. #L#
The co-chairmen exchanged information about the situation in the
economy of the two countries.
According to figures released by Croatia, the volume of bilateral
trade fell by 22 percent to 28.7 million dollars last year in
comparison to 2001. Ukrainian exports dropped by 31.2 percent to
USD18.6 million, while Croatian exports increased by one percent to
10.1 million.
The participants in the meeting agreed that the most promising
branches for the enhancement of bilateral economic cooperation
were agriculture, food-processing, chemical and petrochemical,
wood and timber and power industries, construction, pharmacology,
telecommunications, tourism etc.
The next meeting of the committee is scheduled for 2004 in Zagreb.
