to the former federation, said on Tuesday. #L#
Gabrovec said the date when the five successors must state their
position regarding unfreezing the funds was drawing close.
Slovenia initiated the blockade together with Croatia.
"This time we're not opposing unfreezing them because they are
clearly funds of the Yugoslav People's Bank and they belong to the
successors."
According to an established key, Slovenia expects to get $36
million.
It insists the funds be divided in line with an agreement on
succession the successor states signed in Vienna two years ago.
Croatia has not yet ratified the deal, which could keep the money
blocked for a while longer, Gabrovec said, adding the decision was
up to the United States.
