Serbia and Montenegro's negotiator Veroljub Dugalic told reporters
at the Serbian National Bank the debt would be divided in line with
the succession agreement from Vienna. Under the agreement, Serbia
and Montenegro will be given 38%, Croatia 23%, Slovenia 16%, Bosnia
15.5% and Macedonia 7.5% of the payment.
Dugalic hoped the Russian government would adopt today's agreement
as soon as possible, after which the exchange rate for the
conversion of clearing dollars and payment forms will be determined
among the successor-countries.
Russian Deputy Finance Minister Sergej Kolotuhin expressed
satisfaction with the agreement regarding the amount of the debt
and stated that Russia was capable of and wanted to pay it.
Kolotuhin said that based on current economic analyses the real
value of one clearing dollar was 50 cents.
