Zinka Bardic said Zagreb's Interpol Office had been requested by
the Interpol Office in Belgrade to examine the authenticity of two
Croatian passports.
"A preliminary inspection has established that the persons in whose
names those passports were issued do not exist in Interior Ministry
records, and that the passports were not issued by the Interior
Ministry, which indicates that they are forged," she said.
Bardic added Croatian police were continuing with the
investigation of this case and would notify Interpol in Belgrade
about developments.
Earlier today Serbian police reported that Lukovic had a fake
Croatian passport, and hoped the discovery of the forged documents
would expedite his arrest.
The passport in question was in the name of Vlado Vukomanovic,
Belgrade's Beta news agency said.
