"The government has mulled over the new American request and
decided to approve aircraft overflights for humanitarian
purposes," Premier Anton Rop said at a news conference.
Rop reiterated that Slovenia did not regard itself as a member of
the coalition which was taking part in the war against Iraq.
On Thursday, the U.S State Department forwarded a note confirming
that Slovenia was erased from a recently published list of
countries, which were entitled to special military assistance.
Thus Ljubljana will not receive 4.5 million dollars of aid
Washington has approved. The Slovenian PM explained that the
addition of his country to the said list was a mistake.
