Speaking at a session of the committee of ministerial
representatives, Ambassador Madey said Serbia and Montenegro was
facing a crucial choice of developing democracy, the rule of law and
protection of human rights, or conceding to nationalist forces, the
statement said.
With the aim of endorsing democratic forces and the strengthening
of European orientation of the new authorities in Serbia and
Montenegro, together with other member countries, Croatia is ready
to support cooperation in the Council of Europe through strong
bilateral relations as well, said the ministry.
