The conference of the commission in which Croatia is full member, is
the most important regular annual conference on human rights and
their respect in the world.
In his speech on Tuesday, Simonic confirmed Croatia's openness to
international human rights control mechanisms. He also stressed
that global security and peace should be based on human rights which
should not be sacrificed in the battle against terrorism, says the
ministry.
Croatia's progress in the protection and promotion of human rights
was achieved in the past year on institutional and legislative
levels, said Simonic, citing the constitutional law on the rights
of national minorities.
