The UN official, Jose Cutileiro, said this after his meeting with
the federal foreign minister Goran Svilanovic.
Minister Svilanovic told reporters that Cutileiro and he had
discussed the formation of new state bodies of the new union, the
situation in Kosovo and cooperation with the International
Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.
It is possible that the mandate of the UN special rapporteur on
Serbia and Montenegro would soon cease, Svilanovic said.
"This means that headway has been made to such extent that all the
members of the UN commission for human rights have agreed that there
is no reason for further special supervision over Serbia and
Montenegro in that sphere, and we can be satisfied with it," the
minister added.
