ZAGREB, March 17 (Hina) - Democratic Centre (DC) whip Vesna Skare Ozbolt has requested parliament president Zlatko Tomcic to call an urgent joint session of parliament's committees on foreign affairs and internal affairs and national
security due to an increasingly deteriorating situation regarding the Iraqi crisis and the inability of the U.N. Security Council to reach a consensus on the issue as well as a high probability of military intervention by the United States and allies against Iraq.

Ozbolt has requested parliament president Zlatko Tomcic to call an
urgent joint session of parliament's committees on foreign affairs
and internal affairs and national security due to an increasingly
deteriorating situation regarding the Iraqi crisis and the
inability of the U.N. Security Council to reach a consensus on the
issue as well as a high probability of military intervention by the
United States and allies against Iraq. #L#
Skare-Ozbolt also requested that the session be attended by Prime
Minister Ivica Racan and competent ministers so that the government
and parliament could harmonise their views regarding the Iraqi
crisis and that the government inform the parliament about its
talks with the United States and its allies, the party bench stated
today.
