OSIJEK, March 15 (Hina) - Corruption and organised crime are in full

branch on Saturday. #L#
The issue of corruption and organised crime "has taken such hold
that it's blocking not only the development of entrepreneurship and
economy, but the development of democracy as well, and it's the
political mob that's involved in this," said Moric.
"It is known, for example, that to land work on sections of highways
one must pay bribes, and this is already being publicly discussed,"
he said, adding "all these occurrences reflect the non-existence of
political will for concrete action to prevent these
manifestations".
Moric pointed out the "state administration system is corrupted as
well".
"There is talk about problems of (the) Suncani Hvar (hotel
company), the background of which are large sums of money deposited
in (Slovenia's ) Ljubljanska Bank which will be paid to the legal
successor of the SKH (former Croatian Communist Alliance), i.e. the
SDP (current Social Democratic Party), provided it enables certain
transactions and resolving the problem."
Moric said the latest developments in Serbia were not going to
affect the situation in Croatia in any special way. He added,
however, that one should closely follow developments and meet
demands from Serbia's authorities and state bodies concerning help
and cooperation because organised crime was the entire
international community's problem.
