During a debate it was said that parliament, which adopted the new
HRT law on its own, can place the advertisment on its own as well.
HRT head Mirko Galic said the council's decision was "a serious
strike" on the legitimacy of the HRT's work. "The HRT's functioning
is jeopardised by postponing the implementation of the law," Galic
said.
The public invitation for members to the new programme council will
be announced by parliament should the HRT council fail to do so
within 15 days after the law comes into force.
