Djukanovic said Djindjic's murder was a "great loss for the union of
Serbia and Montenegro, as well as for the democratic movement in the
region". The Montenegrin premier expects that Djindjic's death
would prompt the international community to be even more resolute
in supporting democratic structures in Serbia and Montenegro and
South-East Europe.
Interior Minister Milan Filipovic told reporters that Djindjic's
killing would not affect security in Montenegro and that the
Montenegrin police had stepped up cooperation with their Serbian
colleagues to shed light on the murder. In that context, control on
the border has been increased, Filipovic said.
