ZAGREB, March 13 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Thursday set up a commission to co-ordinate financial assistance to different programmes for Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina and other neighbouring countries as well as in other
countries that are close to Croatia, setting aside 35 million kuna (4.54 million euros) for that purpose.
ZAGREB, March 13 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Thursday set up
a commission to co-ordinate financial assistance to different
programmes for Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina and other neighbouring
countries as well as in other countries that are close to Croatia,
setting aside 35 million kuna (4.54 million euros) for that

Educational, cultural, scientific and other programmes of Bosnian
Croats will be financed with the same amount of money as last year,
totalling 25 million kuna, while Croats in other neighbouring
countries and countries that are closer to Croatia will be assisted
with ten million kuna.
Government officials presented data noting that 750,000 Croats had
lived in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1991, while today 400,000 Croats
lived in that country.
According to some estimates, 250,000-400,000 Croats live in
neighbouring countries and countries that are close to Croatia.
